What next after ITI Fitter ?

  • ITI fitter trains an ITI trainee in fitting , assembling and dismantling various parts of machineries and its parts .
  • In the span of two years an iti trainee would have wide knowledge on
  • Fitting and assembling  different parts
    • Welding
    • Gas and Arc
    • Sheet metal
    • Black smithy
    • Lathe and other machineries used in fitter workshop
    • Heat treatment.

APPRENTICE SHIP

  • It is a on job training process where an ITI trainee could opt to do.
  • Public sector Units like BHEL , BEML, HAL, KMF, BSECOM, KPTCL will notify the notification for Apprenticeship for that year of fitter trainees.
  • The trainee need to submit the documents and attend an interview ( oral and written) to get selected in Apprenticeship training scheme of that company
  • An iti trainee could also choose private companies for doing apprenticeship programme like TOYOTA, MARUTHI, TATA, HONDA, EXIDE AND OTHERS .
  • The duration of Apprenticeship is depends on company rules ( 6 months in private sectors and 1 year in govt. sectors)
  • On selection, an apprentice trainee will get a stipend and at the end the trainee have to pass NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP EXAM to get NATIONAL APPRENTICE SHIP CERTIFICATE (NAC)
  • On NAC certification , an apprenticeship trainee could get into jobs or pursue higher education like diploma, degree

HIGHER STUDIES

  • An ITI fitter trainee could for higher studies like Diploma in Mechanical engineering ( two years ). After completing diploma he/she could search of job or pursue studying with B.E (mechanical- 3years)
  • After B.E he/she she could settle down in any related job or pursue with MTECH ( mechanical specification – two years) and get into research field.
  • If an ITI Fitter trainee wishes to opt for general degree like BA , Bsc or BBA he or she must enrol to PUC or 12 th standard in any stream ( say commerce, arts or science)
  • After PUC, he /she could seek admission to BA/BBM/BSC/BBA

CERTIFICATION COURSES

  • An ITI trainee could pursue advanced certification courses from GTTC        ( Govt Tool room and Training Course )
  • He/she could opt for lathe CNC milling machine certification course provided by various CNC training center or get enrol into SKILL INDIA or PMKVY ( Pradhan mantri Kaushalya vikas Yojana) courses and get placed in reputed companies as a intern or an employee with passing interview in those companies.
  • If an iti fitter trainee is good in welding during academic he/she could choose welding as profession and pursue certification course in welding ( TIG , MIG ,co2, gas welding) and go for a job

JOB

  • An ITI fitter trainee could go for job search immediately after writing his/her final semester exam by taking COURSE COMPLETION CERTIFICATE (CC) from the ITI where he/she has studied.
  • A formal interview with general and technical questions will be asked ( oral as well as written ).
  • He/She must pass the interview and could join any companies.
  • He/she could pursue higher studies like Diploma , BE in any UGC recognised university/ board open university or online platform like Manipal, BITS PILANI , IGNOU while working.
  • An ITI fitter trainee could apply for all private or govt companies if job notifications are notified online or through paper advertisements.
